Count billable parts, not just recipients
Message encoding and length affect how many SMS parts are required. Urdu and mixed-language messages need different capacity from plain GSM text. Extended symbols and emoji also need careful handling.
Check the actual message
- Paste the complete final message into the SMS Count Checker.
- Review encoding, counted units and billable parts.
- Include personalized values and links in your test; longer values can add parts.
- Confirm gateway-specific counting behavior when a result differs from a generic calculator.
- Multiply recipients by parts and your applicable route rate.
Separate fixed masking or Short Code charges from message usage. Estimates are not an invoice and should not assume that marketing rates apply to OTPs.
